HOME OCCUPATIONS
What is required if I want to work from my home? You would have to
make application to the Planning Advisory Committee for approval to
operate a home occupation. The nature of your business would have to
be secondary to the main residential use of your home. Only one other
person, other than any permanent resident of the home, is allowed to
be employed there. The business must be confined to the dwelling unit
with no part of it located in an accessory building or structure.
The only change to the outside appearance of your home would be the
application of a small sign. The floor area, which is devoted to the home
occupation can not be more than 25% of the floor area of your home,
or 32 square meters. Only goods or services directly pertaining to the
home occupation are permitted onsite. No equipment or material used
is stored other than in the dwelling unit. Two off street parking spaces
are provided and other terms as the Planning Advisory Committee may
impose.
Kingston General Merchants
Convenient one-stop shopping with
the allure of unpredictable finds
Already well known for their unique and extensive inventory, the shopping
choices keep getting bigger and better at Kingston General
Merchants. The addition of the NB Liquor Agency Store added a good
selection of spirits, coolers, wine and beer to the inventory. The walk in
beer cooler is immensely popular and to meet customer demand is currently
being expanded to allow for even more chilled products. The new
34x34 foot warehouse is now operational, allowing for old warehouse
space to be reallocated for an expanded selection of hardware and general
merchandise. Once the hardware realignment is completed, the
antiques and collectibles will be able to reclaim some of the floor space
temporarily given up last year. Come spring 2011, customers can
expect to find a better choice of antiques, collectibles and other vintage
items.
Kingston General Merchants is proud to be a one-stop shopping location
and that’s why you’ll also find regular and supreme gas, diesel, a
wide choice of oil products, propane tanks, lotto, cigarettes & tobacco,
ice, movie rentals, groceries, candy, lots of beverages, a huge choice of
fireworks, lots of general merchandise, plumbing & electrical supplies,
fishing licenses and supplies including live bait, gardening seeds, toys,
magazines, novels, greeting cards, and a growing selection of hardware.
Too, they have fresh, hot coffee and locally made sandwiches, subs,
and wraps.
Located on the Kingston Peninsula just four miles from the Gondola
Point Ferry, at the crossroads of Routes 845 & 850, Kingston General
Merchants is only a ferry ride from the communities that make up the
Kennebecasis Valley. Open seven days a week until 10pm they invite
you to stop in for a visit, browse the store, get help with local directions,
and use the ATM. For information call 832-5876.
