We can control the speckles (<strong>and</strong> increase the OTF<br />

magnitude) my making a mask with the property that each<br />

position in the OTF corresponds to a unique pair of<br />

phase-coherent points on the primary mirror. This is<br />

non-redundant (USA) or sparse (Europe) aperture masking.<br />
