Masking
A key observable when analysing aperture-masking data is
closure-phase. The phase of each splodge in the OTF
changes with seeing and slow mirror shape changes, but
the closure-phase doesn’t. i.e. the image closure-phase is
the object closure-phase.
Summary
The equivalent in speckle interferometry is the bispectrum. Cool but tricky.
