Providing & laying cement concrete 1:5:10 ( 1 Cement : 5 Fine sand : 10 graded stone<br />

aggregate 40 mm nominal size ) bedding for stoneware pipes of 150 mm dia internal diameters with<br />

necessary formwork and curing etc complete.( 166 mm Avg. Bed thickness )<br />

Providing salt glazed stoneware fitting bend of required degree ( Any redius of 150 mm<br />

internal diameters<br />

Item No.24<br />

Providing & fixing 25 MM thick polished kotah Stone wall partitions 600 mm wide<br />

and required height and all sides polished machine cut and of approved quality including fixing<br />

the same in wall in line & level etc complete as directed by E.I.C.<br />

Materials : Water shall conform to Item-5.<br />

Cement mortar shall conform to Item-5.<br />

Kotah stone slab 25 mm. thick Polished kotah stone shall have the same specifications as per rough<br />

kotah stone except as mentioned below :The stones shall have machine polished smooth surface. When<br />

brought on site, the stones shall be single polished or double polished depending upon its use. The stones<br />

for paving shall generally be single polished. The stones to be used for dedo, skirting, platforms, sink,<br />

veneering, sills, etc. where machine polishing after the stones are fixed in site is not possible, shall be<br />

double polished.<br />

2.0 Workmanship : 2.1 The relevant specifications of item No. 14.43(A) shall be followed except<br />

that the kotah stone shall be fixed for risers of steps dado or skirting in C. M. 1 : 3 and the polishing<br />

shall be done manually instead of machine polishing.<br />

3.0 Mode of measurements & payment :<br />

The risers of steps, skirting or dado shall be measured in sq. meter length shall be measured along the<br />

finished faces of risers, skirting or dado, Height shall be measured from finished level of treads or floor<br />

to top. Lining of pillars shall be measured under this item.<br />

The rate shall be for a unit of one sq. meter.<br />

Item No.25<br />

Providing & fixing galvanized mild steel tubes (medium grade)of 25 mm the following<br />

nominal bore tube fitting and clamps including making good the wall, ceiling and floor<br />

Materials : Galvanised mild steel tubes of specified dia. nominal bore shall conform to I.S. 1239-1968.<br />

The galvanized fittings, clamps, etc. required for specified dia. bore pipes shall be of best quality and<br />

make as approved by the Engineer-in-charge.<br />

2.0. Workmanship : 2.1. Cutting, Laying and Jointing :<br />

2.1.1. When the tubes are to be cut or rethreaded, the end shall be carefully filed out so that no<br />

obstruction to bore in offered. The ends of the tubes shall then be threaded conforming to the<br />

requirements of I.S. 554-1955 with pipe dies and taps carefully in such a manner as will not result in<br />

slackness of joints when the two pieces are screwed together.<br />

2.1.21. The taps and dies shall be used only for straightening screw threads which have become bent or<br />

damaged and dies shall not be used for turning of the threads so as to make them slacks as the latter<br />

procedure may not result in a watertight joints. The screw threads for tube and fittings shall be protected<br />

from edge unit they are fitted.<br />

2.1.3. In jointing the tubes, the inside of the socket and the screwed end of the tubes shall be oiled and<br />

smeared with white or red lead and wapping around with a few turns of fine spun yarn round the<br />
