SELECTIVE SERVICE – Male students are reminded of your obligation to register with the Selective Service within 30<br />
days of your 18 th birthday. You must be registered to receive Financial Aid. Register on-line at www.sss.gov or see<br />
your Counselor. Please bring identification with you. You are required by law to register.<br />
AFTER SCHOOL HOURS - No student is to remain in the building after 2:16 unless accompanied by a faculty member<br />
for tutoring or staying for a school activity such as club meeting. When the tutoring session or student activity is<br />
completed students are to leave the building. No one should be in the building after 3:00 unless under the direct<br />
supervision of a teacher, coach or activity sponsor. Students waiting for a ride may do so in the front of the building at<br />
the Knight’s Head. Students are not to be in any other location of the building except in the front lobby. No student is<br />
to be in the building unless supervised by a faculty member.<br />

SCHOLARSHIP FOR JUNIORS – Criteria for the Freddie Fu Sports Medicine Scholarship is available in the Guidance<br />
Office scholarship file. This scholarship is for JUNIORS ONLY who are interested in a career in sports medicine.<br />
NORWIN FACULTY VS STEELERS BASKETBALL GAME – Flyers with ticket and t-shirt order information for the<br />
<strong>Norwin</strong> Faculty vs Steelers basketball game are available in the Main Office. Game date is Saturday, April 6, 2013.<br />
SPANISH TRIP - All students going to Costa Rica are to report for a short, mandatory meeting tomorrow morning after<br />
announcements in Miss Connelly’s room.
CLUB NEWS <br />
ART CLUB - Art Club students who participated in the Made by Milk contest are reminded to stay after school tomorrow<br />
for the Made by Milk awards presentation to be held in Room 117 at 2:30.<br />
FCCLA - The March general membership meeting will be held Wednesday, March 20th. Sign-up sheets will be<br />
available for the Empower Shower collection, Race for Grace, and the annual walk-a-thon for the Westmoreland County<br />
Food Bank. Make sure you see Mrs. Greene in Room 141 if you are unable to attend.<br />
The next leadership meeting will take place directly after the general meeting. At this meeting officer applications will be<br />
handed out to all members who have participated in leadership training.<br />
Voting for the 2013-14 school year will take place at the April meeting. Please plan to attend.<br />
INTERACT - Is your closet filled with shoes that you never wear? The Interact club is collecting new or gently used<br />
shoes for a program called Soles 4 Souls. Your shoes will be shipped to areas in the country to help people surviving a<br />
disaster, like Hurricane Sandy, or they will be sent to other countries and be given to people who need shoes. All types<br />
of shoes will be accepted: tennis shoes, flip flops, high heels, boots, etc. Please make sure that the shoes do not have<br />
holes in them and that laced shoes have their laces.<br />
Shoes can be brought to room 208 during homeroom. We will be collecting shoes until Friday, March 22 nd . So, clean<br />
out your closet and help out with Soles 4 Souls.<br />
There will be an Interact meeting on Thursday after school in Room 208. Please bring in shoes for the Soles 4 Souls<br />
project. If you cannot attend the meeting, please stop in on Friday to sign in and get an agenda.<br />
NATIONAL HONOR SOCIETY - Trip to New York City: Any student going on the New York trip needs to stop by Mr.<br />
Amic's room to pick up a packet of information ASAP. Included in the packet are the forms that need to be completed<br />
and returned.<br />
STUDENT COUNCIL - The students attending the district 4 conference at Fort Cherry on Friday are reminded that the<br />
bus will meet us promptly at 6:30 am in the band parking lot.<br />
ATHLETICS NEWS <br />
GIRLS’ BASKETBALL - All girls interested in playing Girls Basketball are to report to the Cafeteria on Wednesday<br />
during homeroom for a brief meeting upon checking in with your homeroom teacher.<br />
FOOTBALL - Any football player grades 9 – 12 interested in helping coach the Rag Tag football games in April, please<br />
see Coach Tragesser as soon as possible.<br />
FRESHMAN ICE HOCKEY - In playoff action last night, the team defeated Thomas Jefferson 9-5. The Knights will face<br />
Greensburg Central Catholic in the semi-final round tonight at 7:20 at Ice Castle in Castle Shannon.
