REPORT OF THE PRESIDENT TO THE ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING<br />
<strong>25</strong> <strong>August</strong> <strong>2010</strong><br />
Introduction<br />
It is indeed my pleasure to be able to report to the members of the South African Facilities<br />
Management Association at this Annual General Meeting. When I look back over the past<br />
12 months I can honestly state that your Council has undertaken its task diligently and with<br />
the interests of the membership in mind.<br />
• Administration:<br />
Your Council appointed The Building Works as the SAFMA administrators in 2009 and<br />
this arrangement continued during <strong>2010</strong>. I would like to place on record our thanks to<br />
Nicolette van den Eijkel and Kim Veltman for their efforts during the year.<br />
• Membership:<br />
Membership has grown significantly:<br />
• Platinum – 7 in 2009 and we now have 10:<br />
Johnson Controls, TFMC, Drake and Scull, Colliers International, Motseng<br />
Facilities Management, ESS, Superfecta Trading, Intersite, Broll Facilities<br />
Management and WSP.<br />
• Gold – 1(2009) and we now have no members in this category as Drake &<br />
Scull have upgraded to Platinum Member status.<br />
• Silver - 1 we now have 3: Global FM, Nedbank and ABSA<br />
• Blue - 11 (2009) and now 14<br />
