The summer has arrived on Okinawa. With longer daylight hours,
warmer weather and—best of all—no school, it’s the perfect time
of the year to introduce your child to the sport of golf. The best
way to familiarize children to the game is to enroll them into a good
golf program that not only teaches but also inspires confidence on and
off the course. This summer, Taiyo Golf Club is offering $25 junior golf
clinics for children and teens. Before you know it, your little Tiger Woods
or Ai Miyazato will be breaking 100 and offering you driving tips.
The clinics will provide young, aspiring golfers with tips and advice
about the game of golf. Topics to be covered this year include chipping,
putting, fine-tuning one’s golf swings, actual game instruction and
course etiquette. Selecting a learning program that nurtures their
interest and stresses having fun is not only vital to the growth of their
game, it can also help instill discipline in other aspects of their lives.
Additionally, the sport is a fantastic way to get out and spend quality
time with your children and family while doing something you all enjoy.
Summer Junior Golf Clinics are offered for two different age
categories; 5 to 9 from 8 to 10 a.m. and 10 to 18 from 1 to 3 p.m.
Sessions run on June 18 to 21, July 9 to 12, July 23 to 26 and August 6
to 9, and are open to all DoD ID card holders within the age limits. Call
