[ News Updates ] IDS Next to enable Banquet and Restaurant content on GDS IDS Next a leading provider of integrated, full-service enterprise property management software and a comprehensive range of information management systems for the hospitality and leisure industry is closely working with a GDS partner to enable banquet and restaurant content online. “We are working with a GDS partner to bring on the GDS platform- banquet and restaurant content. It will be a rich tech application, which will offer stakeholders in the travel trade an option to even book a particular table of their liking. We will launch it by end of 2011,” said Solomon James, Vice President – IDS Networks Group at IDS NEXT. “From my experience, I can confidently assert that most of the hotels with property management systems use not more than 40 per cent applications. PMS is an effective tool for all properties to manage ideal room to manpower ratio and enhance customer satisfaction levels and revenues,” he added. On their path to creating innovative solutions for the hospitality industry, IDS NEXT in partnership with TTI Technologies has recently launched their Passport Scanner for hotels. Hotels will be able to efficiently capture guest information and automatically update their hotel’s database thereby enhancing security measures within the property. “The hospitality segment has come into the spotlight with the first Indian Grand Prix and festive season. Hotels are working toward maximising on this season and achieving full occupancy. As the hospitality sector is largely dependent on guest experience, during the travel season, increased activity makes it a challenge for the hotel management to work towards achieving excellent customer experience,” said Solomon. “The passport scanners help reduce the time consumed in scanning process from about five minutes to less than 30 seconds. It offers great satisfaction to guests when large groups check in at once, especially during MICE events,” he summed. Frasers Hospitality to launch a second-tier brand Luxury serviced apartments company, Frasers Hospitality, has announced its plans to launch a second-tier brand in Singapore and Kuala Lumpur. Aimed at shorter stays for the younger generation, this brand will then be brought to India in the next two years. Revealing more information, Jastina Balen, Director, Group Branding & Communications, Frasers Hospitality said, “The brand name will be announced in November after which we will launch twin properties simultaneously in Singapore and Kuala Lumpur by the second or third quarter of next year.” “This category of serviced apartments would then also be added in our India portfolio in the next two years,” she added. Frasers Hospitality is commencing operations in India with Fraser Suites – New Delhi at Mayur Vihar, New Delhi. It is their first property in India. Talking about the newly constructed property, an optimistic Balen informed, “We witnessed 60 per cent occupancy at Fraser Suites – New Delhi in Mayur Vihar during the F1 event as the media and photographers from the US were staying with us. This is an incredible response as we are officially opening only in February 2012.
