Dr. Muhammad Imran UsmanI
Dr. Muhammad Imran Usmani, holds an LLB, M. Phil, and a Ph. D.
in Islamic Finance graduating as a scholar with a specialization
(Takhassus) in Islamic Fiqh and fatwa from Jamia Darul-Uloom,
Karachi - Pakistan.
Dr. Muhammad Imran Usmani is the head of the Hira
Foundation School and the Sharia Advisor & Group Head of
Product Development Sharia Compliance at Meezan Bank,
in charge of research & development along with product
development of Islamic banking products, training, advisory,
and audit & compliance for the relevant activities. He has
been serving as a teacher \ lecturer of important subjects of
Shariah (Fiqh & Hadith in Mutawassitah to Aalimiyyah levels)
since 1990 in Jamia Darul-Uloom and is a member of its
administration board. He is also a visiting faculty member
at the Karachi University and IBA. Dr. Usmani has also been
leading Friday khuthbah and prayer at a Jamia Mosque for
20 years. Dr. Muhammad Usmani has served as an advisor
/ member of Sharia Boards of several renowned institutions
since 1997 including BMI Bank, Bahrain amongst others.
He is also an Executive Committee Member of AAOIFI
(Dubai) and Sharia Supervisory Board of International Islamic
Financial Market (IIFM) Bahrain and International Center for
Education in Islamic Finance (INCEIF) Malaysia, Institute
of Business Administration (IBA), Karachi and Center for
Islamic Economics(CIE), Karachi. Dr. Usmani is the author
of numerous publications related to Islamic finance and
other Sharia-related subjects. He has presented papers
in numerous national and international seminars and has
delivered lectures at academic institutions including Harvard,
LSE, LUMS and IBA.
Sheikh Nizam Mohammed Yaquby
Sheikh Nizam Mohammed Yaquby is an internationally acclaimed
Sharia scholar in the Islamic banking industry. He has a background
in both traditional Islamic sciences with senior scholars from different
parts of the Muslim world and also a Master’s degree in Economics
from McGill University in Canada.
Sheikh Nizam has taught Islamic subjects in Bahrain
and lectured all over the world. He is a member of many
International Boards including the Sharia Council of AAOIFI,
Dow Jones Islamic Index, Central Bank of Bahrain Sharia
Committee and IIFM Sharia Council. Sheikh Nizam has
edited several Arabic manuscripts and has more than 500
audio-visual lectures and lessons in both Arabic and English.
