MONMOUTH COUNTY STATE LEGISLATORS MONMOUTH COUNTY STATE LEGISLATORS Every 10 years when the census data is collected it is used in a redistricting process that allows state officials to realign congressional and state legislative districts, taking into account population shifts since the last census and assuring equal representation for their constituents in compliance with the “oneperson, one-vote” principle of the 1965 Voting Rights Act. Beginning in 2012 these are the legislative districts that represent the municipalities comprising Monmouth County. Each Legislative District in the county is represented by one State Senator, and two Assembly representatives.
