New Year’s Eve, Dec. 31,
She died surrounded by her
family at Crestview Manor
Nursing Home where she had
been lovingly cared for during
the last eight months of her
seven-year fight with
circles around all of her family, cleaning gardening and baking for church gatherings. Despite her allergies,
she also very much enjoyed caring for her flower gardens, particularly her pink roses.
Mae’s life focused solidly around caring for her family and providing a Christ-centered home. She was a
devoted and loving wife. And she proudly doted on her…. Incomplete ….. and varnishing the exteriors and
interiors.
Brethren in Christ Church. She was active in her Sunday School class as secretary-treasurer and in bake
sales and other fund-raising efforts for the new building on Pleasantville Road. She also was one of the
prayer chain leaders and always stressed the power of prayer. In her retirement years, Mae enjoyed tending
her gardens and visiting with her many different friends each day a McDonald’s. Her grandchildren want
to especially thank their parents, Ron Bell and Marilyn Cunningham, as well as Mae’s nurse Betty Webb,
for their sacrifices and the loving care they gave Grandma during the long years of her illness.
