2. HPC Compass<br />

This extremely stable solid state compass provides very<br />

accurate steering information. It will guide the Autopilot when<br />

you need it the most, in rough weather. The HPC Compass<br />

provides you an accuracy of ± 1° up to a maximum heel of 60°.<br />

The HPC Compass is also available in NMEA format.<br />

3. Servo (distribution) Unit A-1510<br />

The Autopilot system consists of five components:<br />

1. Instrument<br />

Choo<strong>se</strong> from two instrument control alternatives:<br />

Fixed control via the Autopilot instrument Handheld control via the<br />

Remote Control instrument.<br />

All instruments control the Autopilot in four steering modes:<br />

• Compass mode. Steer to a <strong>se</strong>t compass heading<br />

• Nav mode. Steer to a waypoint <strong>se</strong>t (Nexus GPS Transducer or<br />

your GPS if NMEA0183 output)<br />

• Wind mode. Steer to a wind angle from the optional wind<br />

transducer<br />

• Power steering mode. Power steer the rudder. May be u<strong>se</strong>d to<br />

avoid heavy wheel effort when maneuvring.<br />

• Both instruments offer dual display of compass heading and<br />

digital rudder angle indicator<br />

You can also add the analogue NX2 Rudder instrument which will provide<br />

you with a clear visual rudder angle. The information will benefit you while<br />

racing but more important, you will be able to know the angle of your<br />

rudder while maneuvering in harbours.<br />
