Bob Toborg
An article in the ECHO back in 1994 looking for
volunteers to help with the buoys on Gull Lake
brought Bob Toborg to the Gull Chain of Lakes
Association (GCOLA). He not only has been
helping with the maintenance of the buoys on the
Chain since that time but has also served on the
GCOLA Board since 1995. In recent years Bob
has also been conducting weekly secchi dish readings
and taking water samples in several locations
on the Gull Lake Chain to test for phosphorous
and chloropyphl A.
Bob grew up in St. Paul, MN and spent 30 years in
the trucking industry. He has been spending summers
on Gull Lake since he was eight years old.
He and his wife, Rosemary Goff, purchased their home on Lake Margaret in 1992 and have been permanent
residents since 2001. Bob has two sons, five stepchildren, 17 grandchildren and two great grandchildren.
He also serves on the boards of the Lake Margaret Conservation Association and the Lake Shore
Conservation Club and volunteers for the Fishing Has No Boundaries event. In his spare time he does
contract work for Crow Wing Power.
