WESTERN DESERT RESOURCES LIMITED ABN 48 122 301 848
Work on the Rover tenements over the past year has
included:
• Re-assessment of previous interpretations in the
light of results announced from drilling of Rover 1,
Rover 4 and Explorer 108.
• Diamond drilling of the Explorer 42 prospect on
EL24471.
• Assessment of government airborne geophysical
data to define areas of interest on ELA25581.
At the Explorer 42 prospect, one diamond hole was
drilled to test a combined magnetic and gravity anomaly
at depth. Holes drilled by previous explorers did not
intersect significant gold or copper mineralisation, nor
did they adequately explain the observed geophysical
anomalies.
Diamond drilling at the
Explorer 42 prospect.
Drillhole E3DD05 was completed at 446 metres after
testing two magnetic banded ironstone formation (BIF)
zones. The magnetic zones exhibit high magnetic
susceptibilities, and explain the magnetic anomaly.
Assays of core cut from the two BIF zones did not report
anomalous gold values.
