New silencing units from
Soundproof Systems BV
Netherlands-based Soundproof Systems BV (SPS) manufactures custom built 20ft, 30ft and
40ft ISO containers for various installation projects around Europe, including
telecommunication systems, electrical equipment and generating sets, reports WIP.
Customised containers from
Soundproof Systems BV offer users
many advantages over conventional
installations, where cost-effective
protection is of paramount importance to
gen-sets and for people working or living
within the environment.
Fully-insulated, the containers are
complete with lifting and handling
facilities for ease of transportation.
A spokesman for the company told WIP:

housing for the installed equipment and in
addition provides a sound-attenuated and
weatherproof enclosure ready for
operation, with the minimum on-site
preparation - a unique advantage.”

Rigid construction
enables the container to
be raised clear of the
ground with minimal
effort and expense, says
SPS. Environmentallyengineered
weather protection, sound
attenuation, or a combination of both
specifications are available to suit any
environmental need.
Each custom built canopy is constructed
from heavy gauge sheet steel, lined with
acoustic foam to ensure long service life.
Each canopy is fitted with either 2 or 4
personnel access doors (depending on the
size) providing easy access for the
maintenance and inspection of the diesel
generator unit. These doors are fully
lockable with recessed handles.
Typically, cooling air is drawn into the
canopy via the engine radiator fan, or
electric fan through the sound reducing

chevrons or splitter attenuators. Control
panel viewing windows can be provided to
allow monitoring of the generating set
without opening the canopy doors, reports
SPS.
Undrilled cable gland plates can be
provided to allow easy site connection
and lifting points are provided for the
canopy at convenient locations.
Finally, these canopies are powder
coated to a high quality finish to
