REFLECTORS<br />

Method of <strong>Testing</strong><br />
Rear Reflectors (required on all vehicles)<br />
1. Check that two red reflectors are fitted symmetrically to the rear of the vehicle.<br />
2. Check that each reflector is secure, complete and operates in an effective manner.<br />
Side Reflectors (if fitted)<br />
3. Side reflectors, if fitted, must be amber in colour; however, the rearmost side retro-reflector can be red if it is grouped or has<br />
part of the light emitting surface in common with the rear position lamp, the rear end-outline marker lamp, the rear fog lamp,<br />
the stop-lamp or the red rearmost side-marker lamp.<br />

REASONS FOR FAILURE<br />
1 One or both missing or ineffective.<br />
2 Not red in colour.<br />
3 Seriously damaged.<br />
4 Not matching in size and appearance.<br />
5 Insecurely mounted.<br />
6 Not fitted symmetrically.<br />
7 Not amber in colour.<br />
