additional guidance. Please contact your Student Success
Coach (SSC) in Student Central or the appropriate College
Associate Dean in Academics.

ACADEMIC DISMISSAL
Students who are academically dismissed must appeal to the
appropriate program Dean in writing to be allowed to return
to school. This process begins with your SSC and
supersedes any schedule that may have been submitted prior
to semester end. Students have seven (7) days from the date
of notification of dismissal.
If a student finds him or herself academically dismissed,
the student must draft a letter of Appeal for Reinstatement
that includes an explanation of the circumstances that led to
the dismissal. In addition, the student must submit
documentation in support of those mitigating circumstances.
Furthermore, students seeking reinstatement must also draft
a specific plan outlining the individual steps the student will
take to return to good standing.
Students who are academically reinstated for one
semester are assigned to a faculty advisor at the beginning of
the semester for the duration of the semester.

ADDRESS CHANGES
In order to ensure receipt of important correspondence,
please verify your mailing address and email address.
You may update your address, phone number and/or
email address in your DeVry student portal.
Login, click on “Update My Contact Info” link under the
“My Tools” area on the left-hand side of the screen.
You can also update contact information by clicking on
“Register for my Classes” or “Change My Schedule”.
Next, click on the “DVU OSS Student Self Service” link
in the upper-left hand side of the screen, and then click on
the beige “My Profile” tab in the upper-right hand corner of
the “Welcome” screen (above the yellow “My Status” box.).
If you experience any difficulties attempting to update
your student portal, you may also update by contacting
Registrar Services in Student Central by calling (816) 943-
7310, fax the office at (816) 943-7551, email kccregistrar@devry.edu
or stop by Student Central in the first
floor administrative office across from the Commons.

undergraduate students. The advising process is designed to
assist you as you make important decisions related to your
academic progress.
