Early Childhood Parenting Made Fun
Creating Happy Families and Responsible Kids Based on the Love
and Logic Philosophy. You will learn techniques that allow you to
discipline your kids without losing their love and respect, and you will
learn techniques that will help you raise respectful and responsible
kids. Cost includes handbook. Childcare provided.

Cheerleading Class
This is a great introduction to cheerleading! This class is for 3-5 year
olds. We will be working on cheers, dances, basic stunts, jumps, and
motions. Instructed by Apex Athletics USASF certified coaches.

Tumbling
This class will concentrate on mastering the basic tumbling positions
and skills such as tuck, pike, straddle, lunge, table tops, forward
roll, backward roll and learning the beginning stages of a cartwheel,
handstand, and bridge. We will challenge the use of large motor skills,
fine motor skills, hand eye co-ordination, memory, and repetitiveness
through the use of visual and hands on learning techniques. Your
child will be working on their own while being monitored and assisted
by our trained and skilled coaches. Your child will be taught the safe
way to perform these skills to prevent injury and to help prevent bad
tumbling habits. This is a great opportunity for your child to have some
fun, get some exercise and build some self confidence while learning
the basics of tumbling.

First Steps in Music - Infants Age 6-18 mths
First Steps in Music brings the rich heritage of American folk songs
and rhymes to children. Parents/caretakers will be taught a variety of
bounces, lullabies and songs for wiggling, giggling and dancing. The
combination and types of activities are research-based. In addition,
activities evolve from the child’s world and include vocal play, animal
sounds, language play and a good bit of genuine, silly fun. Classes
are taught by Nancy Schwartz, a certified First Steps in Music
instructor and a Johnston Elementary Music teacher.

First Steps in Music - Toddlers Age 18 mths-3 yrs
First Steps in Music brings the rich heritage of American folk songs

language play. A good time will be had by child and parent interacting

Kids/Teen Connection (KTC) is the Johnston school district’s
school-age childcare program, which provides quality, caring
staff to meet the individual needs of each child and fosters open
communication. KTC offers both a balanced breakfast and an
afternoon snack daily.
