emphasizes<br />

the value of<br />

art education for all children<br />

and encourages public support<br />

for quality school art programs.<br />

The Huntsville<br />

Museum of Art is celebrating<br />

the visual arts for Youth Art<br />

Month this year with its 25 th<br />

annual exhibit. The “YAM<br />

2012 includes about 200<br />

works of students in K<br />

through 12 th grade from area<br />

chools including: Huntsville,<br />

adison, Athens, Decatur,<br />

cottsboro, Madison County,<br />

nd Limestone County. Sunay,<br />

March 11 th was a Comunity<br />

Free Admission Day at<br />

the Museum with a reception<br />

to recognize the student<br />

artists in the exhibition.<br />

The Visual Arts Achievement<br />

Program sponsored by the<br />

Huntsville Museum of Art will<br />

recognize 17 middle school<br />

and high school students for<br />

their achievements in art.<br />

The award-winning works will<br />

travel to Montgomery to be<br />

displayed with other regional<br />

winners in April. Also, one<br />

high school work will be chosen<br />

from the 5 th Congressional<br />

District will be sent to<br />

Washington, D. C. to be displayed<br />

for one year.<br />

The YAM 2012 Exhibition can<br />

be viewed through April 29,<br />

2012. Museum hours are<br />

Sunday from 1 to 4 p.m.,<br />

Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday,<br />

and Saturday from 11a.m. to<br />

4 p.m., and Thursday from<br />

11 a.m. to 8 p.m. Admission<br />

is $8 for adults, $4 for children<br />

ages 6-11, $7 for students,<br />

seniors, educators,<br />

and members of the military.<br />
