share each - South Dakota, North Dakota." Accordingly, the fund has<br />

been closed.<br />

(1887) Reserve Deposit Fund<br />

This fund resulted from an unrestricted bequest to the Society of the<br />

decedent's residuary estate; the money was set aside under "Reserve Deposit<br />

<strong>Funds</strong>" by action of the Board of Directors for the purpose of protecting the<br />

credit of the Society. [Historical note: In December 1968, the Executive<br />

Council authorized the Treasurer to withdraw a total of up to $1 million from<br />

5 specific trust funds (Nos. 46, 64, 107, 700 and 745) to be set up in a<br />

separate account for investing in enterprises to assist minority groups.] Since<br />

November 1989 this fund has been part of what is now called the Economic<br />

Justice Loan Fund (see Treasurer's Report), which consists of unrestricted<br />

DFMS endowment funds set aside by Executive Council for the purposes of<br />

socially-responsible investment, in response to Resolution C-030a of the 1988<br />

General Convention.<br />
