with sun rising above hands in the form of<br />

gilt snakes, movement stamped PMK, ht. 13<br />

3/4 in.<br />

Note: The Mühlhauser & Pleskot firm (aka<br />

Josef Mühlhauser and Jos. Mühlhauser &<br />

Sohn) is listed in Hans-Heinrich Schmid’s<br />

Lexikon der Deutschen Uhrenindustrie: 1850-<br />

1980. By 1883, some 25 workers were<br />

making about 180 clocks a week. The PMK<br />

trademark was apparently used for only a few<br />

years, and Pleskot’s name is no longer found<br />

after 1888. The Mühlhauser firm was still<br />

mentioned as of 1912.<br />
