Nights at M.L.C.A.!

Looking for something fun,
inexpensive and relaxing to do on a
Friday night this summer? Then
Multi-Lakes has your answer! Every
Friday night our club offers to all
who would like to join both a
fantastic fish fry and our fabulous car
cruise.
The fish fry has been a frequented
event for decades. It’s an all you can
eat affair, offering not only baked
and fried fish, but also broasted
chicken, potatoes, salad bar, veggies
and breads.
Fred Koby is the chairman for the
committee, working with six different
crews on a rotating schedule. When
chatting with Fred regarding the
function, he commented that the fish
fry has excellent attributes; it’s an
opportunity to come to the club with
your friends and family, plus it’s a
great fundraiser for the club. Fred
also wanted to thank Ken Behrens
for his years of dedication, recently
passing the chairmanship to Fred.
Each crew has a crew leader, who
trains and manages the other
volunteers, covering the kitchen,
clean up and cashiering duties.
During the fish fry each week the
Gun-A-Week drawing is pulled and
the winner announced.
The hours of the fish fry are 5:30
PM to 8:30 PM, year round. Cost is
$8 for a general ticket, seniors over
62 years old are $7.50, and children 5
– 12 years old are $5.50. Come on
out and enjoy!

The car cruise is truly spectacular,
for the patrons can truly take their
time and behold the classics, chat
with the owners, and swap car
stories.
This is the fourth year of our car
cruise and it continues to grow in
participation. Drivers are encouraged
to bring out their cars and park them
on our main field, in the center of the
grounds. Rows upon rows of
beautiful cars to be beheld by all
guests.
Each ‘cruiser’ gets a driver ticket
upon entry, and each evening there
are six prizes awarded through the
driver raffle. Thanks to our local
Auto Zone, Knight’s Auto, and
Murray’s Auto Parts who have
supported M.L.C.A. with prize
donations!
There is no admission charge for
the drivers or the guests enjoying the
show. Participants are not required to
be members. Cruisers arrive
throughout the afternoon and early
evening, and the event wraps up
generally around dusk.
Skip Worden has been the
chairman of the event since its
inception, and you can see him out
there running the event nearly every
Friday. Skip commented that he
loves getting the opportunity to show
off the club, the cars and provide
everyone with a great time. Skip also
noted that if a person is looking for a
burger rather than going into the fish
fry for dinner, we do have a small
grill area set up so folks can grab a
bite outside as well.
Skip is always looking for people
to help staff the grill, and crews are
assigned on a rotating schedule. If
you haven’t seen this event, come out
and enjoy the view!
These two Friday night functions
offer a full evening of fun and food.
Many patrons stroll around and look
at the cars, then grab a bite to eat at
the fish fry or the outdoor grill, and
then back out to look at the cars
again to chat with the owners and
other guests appreciating their
beauty.
Then, if you are looking for
dessert, the Boy Scouts frequently
sell ice cream within the fish fry. For
members interested in volunteering
to work the event, please contact the
chairmen. For new members, this is
an easy way to get two functions in
one night and meet many club
members participating in the events.
All in all, it’s a wonderful way to
spend an evening close to home and
to enjoy your club with friends and
family. Please come out and enjoy
