How to Measure – Aurora Shutters
WINDOW OPENING
Measure the width at three points and the height at three points. Use the smallest
width and height measurements.
For windows that are more than ¼" out of square on diagonal measurements, we
recommend an outside mount installation.
For drywall-wrapped windows with a rounded edge (Bullnose) where the radius
of the Bullnose is 1" or less, simply measure the window opening as if it were a
square corner. For radius larger than 1" measure from where the wall becomes flat
for window opening measurement.
NOTE: On large radius Bullnose edges confirm the louvers will have sufficient
clearance to rotate with the 2" overlap.
TRIM-TO-TRIM (INSTALL OPTION 1 ONLY IF WINDOW HAS TRIM)
Measure width and height from outside of window trim to outside
of window trim at three points. Use the largest width and height
measurements.
For windows with sills, measure from top of trim to window sill for
height.
CONFIRM THAT WINDOW IS SQUARE
Measure the diagonals. If the difference between the two measurements is greater
than ¼", an outside mount shutter is required.
