Leagues since the program resumed play in 1991. Gardner<br />
played center field for the New York Yankees.<br />
Here’s some <strong>of</strong> his Yankee highlights:<br />
• Had a game-winning single in the Yankees’ 5-4 win<br />
over Boston on July 3rd. The game was televised nationally<br />
on ESPN.<br />
• Became the last player to score a run at historic<br />
Yankee Stadium on an Robinson Cano sacrifice fly in<br />
the stadium’s last game on Sept. 22nd, 2008<br />
• Gardner saw action in 42 games, registering 29 hits,<br />
16 RBI and 13 stolen bases.
