TUGGERANONG HAWKS
Last Home and Away
Today’s game against the Hawks is the final match
for both Clubs in the first year of the NEAFL – Eastern
Conference. Neither club will participate in the finals
series, so you would think nothing is riding on the
result. Far from it!!
The Tigers haven’t tasted victory for some time and
would like nothing better than to end the season on
a positive note especially in front of many former
players and coaches who are in attendance as part
of the Tigers 20 Year Reunion of its 1991 1st Grade
Premiership team.
Thanks and Appreciation
The presentation of our home matches has once
again been well received this year. In particular our
merchandise tent which has been manned by Lyn
MacKenzie for most games assisted by Annette
Pavese. Thank you for your efforts. There are bargains
to be gained today with many items marked down as
an end of year SALE.
We also thank our many volunteers who have assisted
in the canteen this season. They are mainly parents
from our Junior teams who have been rostered on
during the year. Special appreciation to Di McGinley
for her untiring efforts throughout the year as chief
organiser of what has been described as “ the best
canteen” in the League. Along with Judy Mustard - her
efforts from 6.30am on match days until close of
business at the conclusion of the main match is
greatly appreciated. Also thanks to Belinda and Trevor
Rootsey and Murrey Lembit who assist regularly.
The Club would also like to thank members of the
Queanbeyan West Rotary Club who assist at home
games by manning the gate and to Mal Corcoran – our
Growlers bar manager.
Congratulations.
Congratulations to our Under 16 Grade Division 1
and Division 2 teams who have progressed through
to their respective grand finals and all the very best
to our Under 14 and Under 12 grade teams who will
participate in the preliminary finals this weekend.
“Volunteer of the Week”
This week’s volunteer of the week is Gerrit “Chief”
Wanganeen, Gerrit Wanganeen or “Chief” as he is
affectionately known is a tireless worker for the club,
either in his role on the Board and Football Committee
or his management of ground set up on matches days.
Chief is always there to lend a hand when it is required.
On behalf of the Board and Members of the club we
thank him for his support and we look forward to his
continued support into the future.
If you would like to become more involved with the
club in a volunteer capacity please contact Football
Manager David Graham on 0408 325 753 and we
would greatly welcome your support.
