RECOGNITION
FOR TOY STORY
Toy Story was a great success at
the box office, and critics loved
the film as well. When it was
released, Toy Story received
two Golden Globe nominations
and three Academy Award
nominations. Pixar did not
win either of these prestigious
awards that year, but for many
of its later films, Pixar would
walk away with numerous
awards for excellence.
In addition to the rewards
of happy audiences and financial
success, Toy Story represented the
fruition of a long-held dream.
Catmull recalled,
A lot of people said,
congratulations, you guys did
what you said you were going
to do and you spent your whole
careers doing it, so there was
this great feeling of elation.
And then when it was done,
I was like, now what? 3
