NCH ONLINE Website facelift improves functionality The NCH website (www.NCHmd. org) has recently undergone changes to make it more user-friendly and more informative. Along with other options, the redesigned home page includes a “Giving Opportunity” link to the NCH Healthcare Foundation and Planned Giving page. In addition, there is a multitude of health information as well as listings of physicians by name and specialty. Planned giving The NCH Planned Giving page features a wide array of informative and instructive articles: • Testimonials from donors that explain how gift-planning vehicles helped them achieve their goals • A gift-planning tool to create a customized giving plan • A weekly gift planning article in GiftLegacy • Personal financial news • Weekly successful living articles for seniors, called “Senior Savvy” • Introductions of the NCH Planned Giving staff • A registration form for NCH’s free weekly personal finance newsletter GiftLegacy Comprehensive health content NCH’s new Health Information Library provides easily accessible information about various health topics, medical conditions, and health news: • Adult and Pediatric Health Libraries • A Health e-newsletter and weekly health news updates • Surgical procedure animations • A virtual tour of the human body • Health quizzes to test medical knowledge • Calculators to determine health risks Find a physician Many people, whether new to the area or longtime residents, need to find a primary care physician or specialist but do not know how to go about doing so. NCH’s Find a Doctor section is designed to make the search easy and simple. Physicians can be searched by specialty or by name. Each physician’s page provides the physician’s address, phone number, specialties, and board certifications, as well as medical education and training. Visit www.NCHmd.org to explore these and other interesting and informative pages. If computer access is a problem, more information on physician referral and other NCH services can be obtained by calling the NCH Access Health Line at (239) 436-5430. The power of giving The NCH Healthcare Foundation is grateful for your generous contributions. There are a variety of ways to help the NCH Healthcare System maintain its regional excellence and build for the future of our community. Estate and planned giving Your planned giving carries on an important tradition of philanthropy, strengthening the legacy of NCH Healthcare System’s mission “to restore, promote, and maintain health in the people we serve.” A bequest in your will is the simplest method. Matching gifts Many corporations match your charitable donation, by which your gifts to NCH can be multiplied. Whether employed or retired, you may obtain the necessary form from your employer’s personnel office. Tribute gifts Gifts in memory of a family member or friend, in honor of a colleague or friend, or in celebration of a special occasion express what words alone cannot and provide important support. Note: Due to recent privacy statutes, some fi nancial institutions are no longer able to provide the charity with the name of the donor for gifts of stock. CAPITAL CAMPAIGN “For All of Us” ensures a bright future While the new Patient Tower at NCH’s North Collier hospital has been rising into the sky, various NCH supporters and volunteers have been laboring behind the scenes to ensure the success of “For All of Us,” the $35 million capital campaign launched to support this massive expansion/renovation project. The need for the expansion and its importance to the community is clearly evidenced by the impressive support the capital campaign has received. Before turning to the community, NCH ensured it had 100 percent support from its Board of Trustees, management team, the NCH Foundation Committee, and the Leadership Cabinet directing the capital campaign. In 2004, the NCH medical staff was asked to join in the effort and responded quickly and positively. Similarly, the business community committed to supporting the campaign as well. To date, commitments have been received for $28 million and the Leadership Cabinet, chaired by Stephen L. Schwartz and F. Fred Pezeshkan, hope to reach the $35 million goal by the end of the fiscal year, September 30, 2006. Because the expansion and renovations will bring a higher level of health care to all residents and visitors, NCH is now reaching out to the community for support. Hard-hat tours of the NCH North Collier campus will be offered, beginning in May, to those interested in seeing the progress and learning more about the project. While financial support at any level is welcomed, various naming opportunities still exist. One of the most popular is the opportunity to have a patient room named in appreciation for a donation of $75,000. The expansion/renovation project will convert both Naples and North Collier Hospitals from 80 percent semi-private to 80 percent private rooms. Donors can select to fund a room in a specific area of either hospital or direct their support where it is most needed. Those who elect to fund a private room will be recognized by a lovely wall clock with an attached plaque in the room, allowing patients and family members to take notice of their generous support.
