Sacramento County Housing Element 2013–2021
INCOME CHARACTERISTICS
The following Table 5‐8 shows that median household incomes decreased
approximately 7 percent countywide between 2000 and 2010 when inflation is
factored. Family households experienced a greater decrease in income than nonfamily
households (7.6 percent versus 4.6 percent). Per capita income also
decreased by almost 9 percent. This decrease in household and family income is
due to the Sacramento region’s economic downturn and the resulting increase in
the number of unemployed in the County.
