Lincoln City Chamber of Commerce Committee News The Ambassador committee has been busy with Business After Hours and ribbon cuttings. Our November Business After Hours was a fun event at the Northwest Business Center, hosted by Bryan P. Fitzsimmons, CPA, Andrews & Cramer, LLC, American Family Insurance, Edward Jones, and Premier Title. There were lots of fun raffle Our Committees - Ambassadors prizes and good food too! As this newsletter goes to print, we are planning a ribbon cutting at the Siletz Bay Buffet at Chinook Winds Casino Resort, on Tuesday, November 29th, to celebrate their remodel. We are looking forward to sampling the new food items. On December 9th at 6:00 pm we understand that Santa will be arriving at The Dorchester House and we will be there to help the children pose for pictures with Santa and to collect food for the canned food drive. This is a fun tradition when the residents of The Dorchester House get to see the children tell Santa what they want him to bring this year. We are also looking forward to the Grand Opening of Tranquil Solutions on December 15th and will be there for the ribbon cutting. The Ambassador committee meets on the 2nd Tuesday of each month at 7:45 am. Give the Chamber office, or Susan Wahlke (at 541-992-5572), a call to find out the location of our next meeting. Susan Wahlke Andrews & Cramer, LLC Ambassador Chair Business After Hours The Lincoln City Chamber of Commerce Business After Hours was held Thursday, Nov. 17 at the NW Business Center, 2015 NW 39th Street in Lincoln City. From 5:30-7:00 p.m., guests enjoyed a progressive-style “dinner,” enjoying beverages, bistro-style food, desserts and coffee as they visited each different business offices. The five businesses within the NW Business Center are American Family Insurance; Andrews & Cramer, LLC; Bryan P. Fitzsimmons, CPA; Edward Jones and Premier Title of Oregon. Ribbon Cuttings The Ambassadors held a special ribbon-cutting for the newly remodeled Siletz Bay Buffet in the Chinook Winds Casino Resort, Tuesday, November 29th. The Thirteenth Annual Angels Anonymous Holiday Ball Linda decorates a Tree for the Chamber’s contribution to The Twelfth Annual Angels Anonymous Holiday Ball, Saturday, December 3rd, from 5:30 p.m. until midnight at Chinook Winds Casino Resort. Angels Anonymous, a non-profit foundation, provides immediate and basic services to those in need from Depoe Bay to Rose Lodge. The program helps those in need who have exhausted every other avenue of assistance to meet basic short-term needs. It’s anonymous and a one-time only helping hand extended to residents of north Lincoln County. For more information, call Roger Robertson at (541) 992-4625. When you’ve been looking through our website, have you ever wondered what that little green arrow-looking symbol by the Facebook and Twitter badge in the top right corner does? If you click on it, a little window will open up with these words: “Copy the code below and paste it directly into the code of your site!” Then in a smaller box below are the magic words that, once placed in the code of your website, will allow an image of the Chamber’s logo to be visible on your website. It will be an active link back to our website. Just copy and paste! Why would you want such a thing on your website? First, it will help increase your website’s activity rating by increasing the referral options on your page for each visitor to your page. Secondly, the image of our Chamber displayed on your website, indicates to the public that you are a member, that you support the goals and ideals of the Chamber of Commerce. This is important to many shoppers/visitors looking for a trustworthy source. In this age of trying to maximize advertising efforts, any little bit helps. Try this little trick! Super Auction II: The Sequel The Super Auction returns! ~ Only slightly altered. We anticipate an all live webcast in the Spring for this year’s super auction. So plan your participation now. In the next few months you will be contacted by an Auction representative, so be thinking about the level of response that matches your desire to join in. Just like in previous years, all contributors will receive recognition on air, on the web and in print. If your company is putting together a budget for next year, keep this event in mind. Now is the time to tap your vendors to see what resources are available to them on your behalf! If your tax situation could benefit from some ad expense, please keep the Super Auction in mind. We have begun collecting sponsorships already! We know the holidays are busy and challenging times, but wanted to get the word out.
