<strong>Message</strong> <strong>from</strong> <strong>the</strong> <strong>President</strong> 1<br />
Notes <strong>from</strong> Nonni 6<br />
<strong>Lincoln</strong> <strong>City</strong><br />
<strong>Chamber</strong> <strong>of</strong> <strong>Commerce</strong><br />
Mission Statement<br />
The <strong>Chamber</strong> shall streng<strong>the</strong>n <strong>the</strong> identity<br />
and enhance <strong>the</strong> image <strong>of</strong> our business<br />
community, enabling businesses to grow<br />
and prosper by serving as a unified voice<br />
and providing service to its membership.<br />
This is a <strong>Lincoln</strong> <strong>City</strong> <strong>Chamber</strong> <strong>of</strong> <strong>Commerce</strong> publication produced by <strong>the</strong> News-Times.<br />
All content was provided by <strong>the</strong> <strong>Lincoln</strong> <strong>City</strong> <strong>Chamber</strong> <strong>of</strong> <strong>Commerce</strong>.<br />
This month we will all see, as chamber members,<br />
<strong>the</strong> distribution <strong>of</strong> our 2011-2012 <strong>Lincoln</strong> <strong>City</strong><br />
<strong>Chamber</strong> <strong>of</strong> <strong>Commerce</strong> Member Directory. Our Executive<br />
Director, Linda Roy and many <strong>of</strong> our chamber<br />
members have worked very hard making sure<br />
<strong>the</strong>y have published what is one <strong>of</strong> our most valuable<br />
assets we can utilize as chamber members. After living<br />
with my directory in place <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> local phone<br />
book for <strong>the</strong> past several years, I have felt <strong>the</strong> need<br />
to pass on how <strong>the</strong> majority <strong>of</strong> our membership gains<br />
tremendous value <strong>from</strong> our directory.<br />
I operate a business, just as many <strong>of</strong> you do, that<br />
requires local services on a regular basis, including<br />
plumbers, electricians, printers, contractors, banks,<br />
and every o<strong>the</strong>r service that you could imagine a<br />
large restaurant would need (and <strong>the</strong>re are so many).<br />
The services that are required for this single business<br />
total into <strong>the</strong> thousands, if not tens <strong>of</strong> thousands,<br />
<strong>of</strong> dollars every year. In <strong>the</strong> past, with just<br />
<strong>the</strong> phone book, our products and services were not<br />
always local, and I wasn’t always sure whe<strong>the</strong>r <strong>the</strong>y<br />
were <strong>Chamber</strong> members or not.<br />
After making sure that my <strong>Chamber</strong> Directory<br />
was my first resource for products and vendors, I’ve<br />
not only found that I am able to support <strong>the</strong> local<br />
economy more, I am also able to work with chamber<br />
members first, and network with those who might be<br />
more inclined to patronize my business as well. Using<br />
our <strong>Chamber</strong> Directory keeps money in <strong>Lincoln</strong><br />
<strong>City</strong>, helps build local relationships, and definitely<br />
adds to <strong>the</strong> strength and value <strong>of</strong> OUR <strong>Lincoln</strong> <strong>City</strong><br />
<strong>Chamber</strong> <strong>of</strong> <strong>Commerce</strong>.<br />
So as you all receive your <strong>Lincoln</strong> <strong>City</strong> <strong>Chamber</strong><br />
<strong>of</strong> <strong>Commerce</strong> Business Directory 2011-2012,<br />
move over that local phone book, plant your Directory<br />
squarely on your desk, and support your fellow<br />
chamber members. From personal experience I can<br />
promise that you will be happy you did.<br />
