2. Set brick with unifonn joints in running bond pattern. Long axis of brick
to be perpendicular to curb.
3. Place expansion joints in accordance with Section 02533, Roadway
Concrete.
3.04 ADJUST AND CLEAN
A. Remove and replace bricks that have become loose, chipped, broken, stained, or
otherwise damaged during installation.
B. Provide new units to match adjoining units and install in fresh mortar, pointed to
eliminate evidence of replacement.
C. Cleaning:
1. Remove mortar droppings before hardening.
2. Wet paving with fine spray until waler runs fi'ecly over surface.
3. Apply brick manufacturer's recommended cleaning solution with stiff
brush.
4. Scrub rnaxirhtim of 1 00 square feet of Sllrf~lcC at one time.
5. Rinse with clear water.
3.05 PROTECTION
A. Protect concrete and finished brick work (i'om pedestrian and vehicular traffic
until concrete has been suftlciently cured as determined by the ENGINEER.
B. . Mcthod of protection shall be npprovcd by the ENGINEER prior to beginning
work under this section.
