Box Hill Institute is pleased to announce that it now offers ELICOS in its new city campus location at the CAE in Melbourne CBD.
The Institute has successfully delivered ELICOS at its Box Hill campus, which is NEAS accredited, for over 20 years.
ELICOS pathway to Box Hill Institute certificate, diploma and degree courses
Students wishing to enter Box Hill Institute courses at certificate, diploma and degree level need to study at either upper-intermediate or advanced
level, and be assessed as meeting the English Language requirements for vocational study.
The information below relates to classes at the City Campus location.

• Classes are run in 10-week blocks with intakes approximately every 5 weeks throughout the year
• Students study in class for 22 hours per week
• Students have an additional 2 hours per week in the Independent Learning Centre

Entrance requirements
Applicants for all ELICOS courses must be a minimum of 18 years of
age before arrival in Australia and must be able to speak some English.

Average class size: is 16, maximum 18.
Courses offered
Box Hill Institute will offer six levels of English language study at the
city campus location:
• Beginner entry-level by Box Hill Institute
• Elementary entry-level by Box Hill Institute, OR IELTS overall
bandscore of 3.5 (Academic)
• Pre-intermediate entry-level by Box Hill Institute, OR IELTS overall
bandscore of 4.0 (Academic)
• Intermediate entry-level by Box Hill Institute, OR IELTS overall
bandscore of 4.5 (Academic)
• Upper-intermediate entry-level by Box Hill Institute, OR IELTS overall
bandscore of 5.0 (Academic)
• Advanced entry-level by Box Hill Institute, OR IELTS overall
bandscore of 5.5 (Academic)
Advanced and upper intermediate classes assist students to:
• Improve academic listening, speaking, reading and writing skills
• Become familiar with the IELTS test format
• Develop language and skills required to be successful in IELTS tasks
• Practise test techniques under timed conditions
On completion of ELICOS studies, students will receive a statement
of attendance. In addition, students who successfully complete their
ELICOS course receive a certificate of completion.
Additional fees
$AUD 10 per week materials fee, plus service and amenities fee.
In addition to tuition fees students will need a minimum of
$AUD18,610 per year to cover living costs.
Students with Working Holiday or Tourist visas
Box Hill Institute welcomes students with Working Holiday or Tourist
visas who wish to develop their English language skills. Students may
study full time or part time and may begin at any time.

campus known as Building B, offers a range of facilities and services
to students including the CAE Service Hub and City Library.
Building B offers students convenience and ease of access, being
