First-ever Daddy B’nai Daughter Mitzvah Dance a Huge Success

Brian is currently a 7th grade
student at Sandy Run Middle
School. He began his Jewish
education at Temple Sinai's Anne
Newman Preschool and also
attended Camp Maccabee.
Brian is passionate about
tennis and soccer and can be found
on the tennis court several days a
week. He enjoys playing travel
soccer and also is a member of the
Sandy Run soccer team. Brian is a
talented musician and a dedicated
guitarist. Brian enjoys spending his
summers with his camp friends at
Camp Chipinaw in the Catskills.
For his Mitzvah Project, Brian is
holding an "evening of tennis" at
the Upper Dublin Sports Center to
support the Israel Tennis Centers.
The ITC, Israel's largest social
service agency for children, serves
over 10,000 children weekly
through a variety of programs.
T h e s e p r o g r a m s a d d r e s s
development and social needs,
including coexistence programs
f o r A r a b a n d J e w i s h
children. Brian also conducted a
tennis racquet drive to donate
racquets to deserving tennis
programs in the Philadelphia area.
He partnered with the United
States Tennis Association Middle
States for support. Brian shares his
Simcha with his parents, Jill and
Jeffrey, sister Hannah, and
grandparents Suzanne Landy, Judy
Hampton and Paul and Sally
Cohen, as well as his extended
family and friends.

Jake is a 7th grade student at the
Robert Saligman Middle School of
Perelman Jewish Day School. He
grew up attending Temple Sinai’s
Ann Newman Preschool, and has
attended Camp Harlam in the
Poconos for the past 4 summers.
Jake’s interests include playing
competitive soccer for Lower Merion
Soccer Club and Saligman
Middle School. He also enjoys
playing basketball and baseball, as
well as skiing, traveling and
hanging out with friends.
For Jake’s Mitzvah Project, he is
volunteering for The Friendship
Circle, a local organization that
assists children with special needs
and their families. Jake also
volunteers with his family at the
Jewish Relief Agency, where he
packs and delivers food to Jewish
People in need around the
Philadelphia area.
Jake will be celebrating his Bar
Mitzvah with his proud parents,
Tracy & George, his sisters Rachel
and Sarah, his brother Eli and his
f o u r grandparen ts, S andi
Hockfield, Bill Hockfield and
Linda & Herbert Gordon.

Rebecca is a 7 th grade student at
Sandy Run Middle School. She
began her Jewish education at the
Anne Newman Preschool and is
currently in the Religious School at
Temple Sinai. She is also part of
Rosh Hodesh – It’s a Girl Thing.
Rebecca enjoys theater, music, art
and sports (particularly skiing,
swimming and softball). She has
performed in a variety of shows
with the Temple Sinai Players
(Wizard of Oz and Big, The
Musical), at camp (Beauty and the
Beast and A Bunch of Broadway)
and, most recently, with the Fox
Chase Actors’ Guild (Seussical).
For her mitzvah project, Rebecca
volunteered at the Jewish Relief
Agency, helping to pack and
deliver food to families in need.
Additionally, she is planning to
help raise money for JAFCO, the
only Jewish orphanage in the U.S.,
by selling flowers for the cast
during the Temple Sinai
production of Annie.
Rebecca is celebrating her Bat
Mitzvah with her parents, Beth and
David, her brother Samuel and her
sister Sarah. She is also excited
about sharing this simcha with her
great grandfather, Abe Pennock,
her grandparents, Carol and Paul
Cohen, Ellen and Allen Joseph and
Joan Joseph, and her aunts, uncles,
cousins and friends!
