First-ever Daddy B’nai Daughter Mitzvah Dance a Huge Success<br />

Brian is currently a 7th grade<br />

student at Sandy Run Middle<br />

School. He began his Jewish<br />

education at <strong>Temple</strong> <strong>Sinai</strong>'s Anne<br />

Newman Preschool and also<br />

attended Camp Maccabee.<br />

Brian is passionate about<br />

tennis and soccer and can be found<br />

on the tennis court several days a<br />

week. He enjoys playing travel<br />

soccer and also is a member of the<br />

Sandy Run soccer team. Brian is a<br />

talented musician and a dedicated<br />

guitarist. Brian enjoys spending his<br />

summers with his camp friends at<br />

Camp Chipinaw in the Catskills.<br />

For his Mitzvah Project, Brian is<br />

holding an "evening of tennis" at<br />

the Upper Dublin Sports Center to<br />

support the Israel Tennis Centers.<br />

The ITC, Israel's largest social<br />

service agency for children, serves<br />

over 10,000 children weekly<br />

through a variety of programs.<br />

development and social needs,<br />

including coexistence programs<br />

f o r A r a b a n d J e w i s h<br />

children. Brian also conducted a<br />

tennis racquet drive to donate<br />

racquets to deserving tennis<br />

programs in the Philadelphia area.<br />

He partnered with the United<br />

States Tennis Association Middle<br />

States for support. Brian shares his<br />

Simcha with his parents, Jill and<br />

Jeffrey, sister Hannah, and<br />

grandparents Suzanne Landy, Judy<br />

Hampton and Paul and Sally<br />

Cohen, as well as his extended<br />

family and friends.<br />

Jake is a 7th grade student at the<br />

Robert Saligman Middle School of<br />

Perelman Jewish Day School. He<br />

grew up attending <strong>Temple</strong> <strong>Sinai</strong>’s<br />

Ann Newman Preschool, and has<br />

attended Camp Harlam in the<br />

Poconos for the past 4 summers.<br />

Jake’s interests include playing<br />

competitive soccer for Lower Merion<br />

Soccer Club and Saligman<br />

Middle School. He also enjoys<br />

playing basketball and baseball, as<br />

well as skiing, traveling and<br />

hanging out with friends.<br />

For Jake’s Mitzvah Project, he is<br />

volunteering for The Friendship<br />

Circle, a local organization that<br />

assists children with special needs<br />

and their families. Jake also<br />

volunteers with his family at the<br />

Jewish Relief Agency, where he<br />

packs and delivers food to Jewish<br />

People in need around the<br />

Philadelphia area.<br />

Jake will be celebrating his Bar<br />

Mitzvah with his proud parents,<br />

Tracy & George, his sisters Rachel<br />

and Sarah, his brother Eli and his<br />

f o u r grandparen ts, S andi<br />

Hockfield, Bill Hockfield and<br />

Linda & Herbert Gordon.<br />

Rebecca is a 7 th grade student at<br />

Sandy Run Middle School. She<br />

began her Jewish education at the<br />

Anne Newman Preschool and is<br />

currently in the Religious School at<br />

<strong>Temple</strong> <strong>Sinai</strong>. She is also part of<br />

Rosh Hodesh – It’s a Girl Thing.<br />

Rebecca enjoys theater, music, art<br />

and sports (particularly skiing,<br />

swimming and softball). She has<br />

performed in a variety of shows<br />

with the <strong>Temple</strong> <strong>Sinai</strong> Players<br />

(Wizard of Oz and Big, The<br />

Musical), at camp (Beauty and the<br />

Beast and A Bunch of Broadway)<br />

and, most recently, with the Fox<br />

Chase Actors’ Guild (Seussical).<br />

For her mitzvah project, Rebecca<br />

volunteered at the Jewish Relief<br />

Agency, helping to pack and<br />

deliver food to families in need.<br />

Additionally, she is planning to<br />

help raise money for JAFCO, the<br />

only Jewish orphanage in the U.S.,<br />

by selling flowers for the cast<br />

during the <strong>Temple</strong> <strong>Sinai</strong><br />

production of Annie.<br />

Rebecca is celebrating her Bat<br />

Mitzvah with her parents, Beth and<br />

David, her brother Samuel and her<br />

sister Sarah. She is also excited<br />

about sharing this simcha with her<br />

great grandfather, Abe Pennock,<br />

her grandparents, Carol and Paul<br />

Cohen, Ellen and Allen Joseph and<br />

Joan Joseph, and her aunts, uncles,<br />

cousins and friends!<br />
