Employment of Disabled Persons
13. Applications for employment by disabled persons are
always fully considered, bearing in mind the aptitudes of
the applicant concerned. In the event of existing
employees becoming disabled every effort is made to
ensure that their employment with the University continues
and that appropriate training is arranged. It is the policy of
the University that the training, career development and
promotion of disabled persons should, as far as possible,
be identical with that of other employees.
Employee Involvement
14. The University places considerable value on the
involvement of its employees and on good communication
with them. The University publishes an official newsletter
which is made available to all staff and separate
supplements are published when the need arises. Staff are
encouraged to participate in formal and informal
consultation at University, Faculty and School level,
sometimes through the membership of formal
Committees.
Conclusion
15. The Council is satisfied that the Group has adequate
resources to continue in operation for the foreseeable
future and, for this reason, the going concern basis
continues to be adopted in the preparation of the Financial
Statements. The University intends to maintain its sound
underlying financial position through sustained income
generation and affordable investment in new
developments.
