ISB Overview
The School:
The International School of Belgrade was founded in 1948. The School is an
independent, non-profit, coeducational day school, located on two campuses. ISB offers a
quality educational program from pre-kindergarten through Grade 12. Currently, the total
student enrollment is 388, with 98 students in the high school. The language of instruction is
English. The school strives to develop the “whole child” intellectually, emotionally, socially,
creatively and physically.
The Class of 2014 is the ninth graduating class in the history of ISB; it is the eighth IB Diploma
Program cohort.
The School Community:
Is comprised of 46 different nationalities with approximately 18% from the United States
and 24% Serbian as well as 58% of children from many different nations.
School Calendar:
The ISB school year has two semesters beginning in mid-August and mid-January with a
total of 180 school days. We have a rotating 6 day block schedule with 45 minute periods.
ISB Faculty:
ISB has over 63 highly qualified and credentialed international and local staff, representing
10 different countries.
The average student teacher ratio is 15:1
Maximum teaching class size is 18
Curriculum:
The rigorous high school curriculum (Grades 9 to 12) is guided by the IB Middle Years (MYP)
and Diploma Programmes (DP). All ISB High School courses are college-preparatory in
nature and are IB Courses–even for students who are taking the course at an ISB High
School Diploma level. ISB students primarily attend universities in Europe, Canada and
North America.
Assuming all graduation requirements are met, we have three types of graduating students:
1) All students receive an ISB High School Diploma.
2) ISB Diploma plus Certificates in selected IB Courses
3) ISB Diploma plus a Full IB Diploma

is calculated by dividing the total number of points earned under the correct category by the
number of courses taken. The GPA score earned is available on the report card and transcript in
both Semesters 1 and 2.
The GPA is cumulative only for classes taken at the International School of Belgrade.
Honors: To receive honors recognition students must earn at the semester:
