ABOUT
VALLEY OF THE ARTS
Daniel Ryan
by Lon Michels and Todd Olson
When we think about “Art And About”, here in our “Valley Of
The Arts”, so many venues, talent and of course artists come
to mind. Our valley is blessed with talent, and artists with
integrity, with a passion like no other we have seen around
the country.
Photographers and the amount of knowledge and talent they
possess can be paramount to the time it takes to put together
amazing and beautiful images. These are captured for
weddings, special art openings, and red carpet events. With
their mastery in imagery, they create feelings and beauty in
realism or the abstract.
We see only the tip of the iceberg when a photographer
is shooting. Upon returning to their studios, they spend
countless hours working with their images. These
photographers/artists fit their images into the context and
formats that will be conducive for the venue that is needed.
One of our favorite photographers in the “Valley Of The Arts”
is Daniel Ryan. Daniel is not only professional, but he is one
of nicest people we have come to know here in Palm Springs.
Daniel is able to take images and transform them digitally for
anything we need. The talent he has is beyond compare, and his
passion and knowledge with the latest technology is incredible.
The exposure is key to shooting our art in the Lon Michels
Gallery. To date, Daniel has shot more than 300 images of our
works alone! He then sends these to places around the world
where they are needed, or right here in our own back yard.
Michael Heath, Allen Perrier and James David Mancini
Daniel Ryan photography is the first we call when we have
a need for imaging our work, special occasions, or artist
receptions. See some of Daniel’s work and his mastery in
images on his website at www.danielryanphotography.com .
Daniel is also becoming the # 1 photographer in the valley
for our new legal same-sex weddings. When asked why he
likes to shoot same-sex weddings, his response is that they
are fabulous, glamorous and for the magical experience of
capturing this love for a lifetime. “There is such a special feeling
that comes into play when people who were denied marriage
and equal rights come together in love, and a celebration of
newfound freedom that comes from the same right to marry”.
Heath Gallery is among one of our favorite galleries. Owners
James David Mancini and Michael Heath are also the
resident artists. They share their incredible space with other
very talented artists who bring such beauty and light alive on
the walls. We were so surprised to find another room in the
back where we could explore other work. This gallery goes
all-out for their artist receptions.
The Hollywood lights are bright and call people to the red carpet.
Upon arriving to Heath Gallery, we are met with enthusiasm,
genuine warmth, and kindness often missed in larger cities.
This gallery is a must for those who like abstract art; all
the work is beautiful, and James and Michael are also very
easy on the eyes! The artist whose reception we attended is
Allen Perrier. Allen is a retired lawyer who has the discipline
to create abstract geometric lines and circles that come
together, forming a journey of imagination and illusion.
His strong suit, though. is his sense of color! We have watched
this artist blossum over the last couple of years, and it is a joy
to see his work. Not only do James and Michael help to inspire
Allen, they support other artists throughout the valley, and
have Jack Farley’s Art Supplies Store right next door.
We were amazed that we did not have to go to Los Angeles
to purchase a 10’ x 10’ rolled canvas, or superb brushes
and paints. All right here, yeah, in Palm Springs, next to the
new Copa. Not only does this gallery light up the sky, but
the artists and owners light up our “Valley Of The Arts” with
talent, color, beauty and integrity!
Please support all small business this shopping season,
and visit a local brick and mortar store. Here is the website
for both Heath Gallery and Jack Farley’s Art Supplies, www.
