The design expresses the phenomena of
this interaction in the way that sand, a
solid with properties of fluid movement,
can take on rigid and even structural
geometric forms when introduced to a
proportional amount of water. Material
considerations were driven by the ability
of the decayed inner form to be obscured
by a translucent exterior shell. When lit
from within, the inner complexities are
revealed, projected onto the exterior.
Perched atop the bridge, the worskpace
allows for further studies of the shifting
geometries of the river as sediment is

deposited and washed away over time.
