Multiple Sclerosis Bike Ride
Multiple Sclerosis (or MS) is a chronic, often disabling disease that attacks the
central nervous system (CNS), which is made up of the brain, spinal cord, and
optic nerves. The progress, severity, and specific symptoms of MS are unpredictable
and vary from one person to another. Today, new treatments and advances
in research are giving new hope to people affected by the disease.
Contributions help to fund cutting-edge research, drive change through advocacy,
facilitate professional education, and provide programs and services to
help people with MS and their families move their lives forward

in the Bike MS WV Country Roads Ride
The Bike MS: WV Country Roads Ride 2010 began in Lewisburg, WV. Riders
had the option of two routes: a 150 mile road route or a 120 mile route on the
Greenbrier River Trail. Both routes for this scenic bicycling adventure begin in
Lewisburg, WV and end at Snowshoe Mountain.
Last year WV DOC Academy Training Director Randy Perdue’s wife Mary and Office Assistant Fay Walker’s husband,
Gary, participated in the WV Country Roads Ride, raising over $1000 for Multiple Sclerosis, thanks to the pledges and donations
of family and friends. This year they rode again on August 28-29, 2010, again raising over $1000 for the cause.
Thank you again, to all of you who helped make this year’s ride in WV a success.
