MMI Courses & Workshops<br />
The cross-institutional MMI Courses<br />
& Workshops build on the research<br />
and teaching strengths of the partner<br />
institutions and the clinical expertise in<br />
the affiliated teaching hospitals to deliver<br />
continuing professional development<br />
opportunities for researchers.<br />
The MMI Courses & Workshops began in 2003 as a<br />
Dublin <strong>Molecular</strong> <strong>Medicine</strong> Centre (DMMC) activity<br />
funded through PRTLI Cycle 3.<br />
MMI Courses (lecture-based and practical courses)<br />
are designed specifically for a cross-institutional<br />
audience of postgraduate students and research<br />
staff (see attendances breakdown below).<br />
Courses & Workshops Faculty<br />
Since 2003, 256 individuals have assembled as<br />
faculty on over 60 DMMC/MMI courses and on<br />
structured training for the MMI Clinician Scientist<br />
Fellowship Programme. There were 27 faculty<br />
members in 2010.<br />
Courses & Workshops Attendances<br />
198 individuals from our partner institutions (NUI<br />
Galway, RCSI, TCD, UCC and UCD) and further<br />
afield attended three MMI Courses & Workshops<br />
in 2010 (see table below) with a total of 265<br />
attendances (some individuals attended more than<br />
one course). See below for Institutional breakdown<br />
