The programme for the third concert in this series
will be extremely interesting: we will meet three
Slovenian composers who studied in Germany and
are still closely connected with this country.
Vito Žuraj studied under professor Wolfgang Rihm,
and Nina Šenk under professor Matthias Pintscher.
That is why we will also have the opportunity to be
introduced to these two renowned German
contemporary composers. We will hear a new
work by Tomaž Bajželj, who currently resides in
Berlin, where he works as a freelance artist; a
concerto for clarinet by Vito Žuraj, which won first
prize for composition at the Saarbrücken Radio
Orchestra competition in 2009, and a composition
for accordion and string orchestra entitled 'The
Journey' by Nina Šenk.
It was performed in Berlin on the 20th anniversary
of Slovenia's independence and the soloist was –
and will also be at this concert – the accordionist
Klemen Leben, who also studied in Germany.
