Jasminka Stančul, the winner of the International
Beethoven Piano Competition in Vienna, and
whose performance captivated London audiences
this year, will demonstrate her musical talent and
maturity by performing one of the most difficult
piano concertos composed by Robert Schumann.
Symphony No. 1 in D major by Gustav Mahler is
always very popular with audiences and is a
welcome addition to any programme. This time it
will be performed by Yoav Talmi, a Jewish
conductor who completed his studies in Tel Aviv,
the city of his birth, and continued his studies at
the Juilliard School in New York. He has won
various conducting competitions and holds an
Honorary Doctorate from Laval University in
Quebec, Canada.
