C. <strong>Romans</strong> 16:17, 18, Now I beseech you, brethren, mark <strong>the</strong>m<br />

which cause divisions <strong>and</strong> offences contrary to <strong>the</strong> doctrine<br />

which ye have learned; <strong>and</strong> avoid <strong>the</strong>m.<br />

<strong>Romans</strong> <strong>14</strong>:5, One man esteemth one day above ano<strong>the</strong>r: ano<strong>the</strong>r<br />

esteemeth every day alike. Let every man be fully persuaded in his<br />

own mind.<br />

I. Ano<strong>the</strong>r issue over which weak <strong>and</strong> strong brethren disagreed was:<br />

A. Shall we esteem each day equally or shall we honor one day<br />

above ano<strong>the</strong>r<br />

B. Shall we consider one day more sacred than ano<strong>the</strong>r or shall we<br />

consider every day alike NIV<br />

II. Let each do what he is fully convinced is right (in this matter <strong>and</strong><br />

o<strong>the</strong>rs of like nature).<br />

A. Jewish converts had observed Sabbaths <strong>and</strong> religious festivals<br />

all <strong>the</strong>ir lives.<br />

B. Gentile converts were not accustomed to observing any of <strong>the</strong>se<br />

days as holy.<br />

C. 1 John 3:20, For if our heart condemn us, God is greater than<br />

our heart, <strong>and</strong> knoweth all things.<br />

<strong>Romans</strong> <strong>14</strong>:6, He that regardeth <strong>the</strong> day, regardeth it unto <strong>the</strong> Lord;<br />

<strong>and</strong> he that regardeth not <strong>the</strong> day, to <strong>the</strong> Lord he doth not regard it.<br />

He that eateth eateth to <strong>the</strong> Lord, for he giveth God thanks; <strong>and</strong> he<br />

that eateth not, to <strong>the</strong> Lord he eateth not, <strong>and</strong> giveth God thanks.<br />
