ART EXPLORATION FEBRUARY VACATION
Paint, paper, scissors and glue-create a masterpiece
unique to you! This exciting week of multimedia exploration
will tap your creativity and take your ideas and
turn them into a reality. Learn to sculpt, assemble,
design and more in this hands on workshop style
week of creative fun! Smocks are advised. Dress for a

FASHION FUN FEBRUARY VACATION
Learn how to create simple trendy looks with basic
sewing techniques, simple weaving, macrame and
jewelry design. Be it unique, classic, or just plain
funky-take this vacation break to create a look all your
own!

WINTER WONDERLAND FEBRUARY VACATION
Warm cozy stories on cold blustery days. Creative
crafty projects and new hobbies to take home! Little
hands will keep busy this vacation break with favorite
new memories as well as a bundle of crafty creations.
Kids will share their favorite winter books or stories
and the class will participate in a fun group project!

FANTASTIC CREATURES
Whether they fly, swim, breathe fire or do all three,we
will create our own fantasy creatures unique to our
imaginations. Each week we will take our creature one
step further into a world of its own. We will create not
only our creature, using a variety of crafting materials,
but the fantasy world it lives in and finally, a storybook
to introduce this new being to our world!

Searching for that extra special piece, that will really

DRAWING

SCULPTING FUN WITH CLAY
Learn to make your own characters and animals from
clay. Attach arms, create fashions, and make hair and
textures. We will fire and glaze your projects. Art

Special Events and Programs
SANTA CALLS
The Recreation Department is assisting Santa in contacting
all of his little friends ages 8 and under. Santa
will be contacting participants on Friday, December 2,
between 4-7 p.m. Parents may pick up a participation
form at the Center Springs Recreation Office, located
at 39 Lodge Drive. All forms must be returned by
Thursday, December 1st at 1 p.m.
VISITS WITH SANTA
Enjoy a day of snacks, hot chocolate, face painting,
crafts and visits with Santa.
Date: Saturday, December 3, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Location: Mary Cheney Library, Main St.
Fee: No charge, residents only
ICE SKATING PARTY, FAMILY FUN NIGHT
Ice skate to the music provided by “Into the Groove”
DJ Dale Griffith. Fun for everyone! All ages welcome.
Bring your chairs to sit and rest by the campfire. Make
s’mores and sip on delicious hot chocolate. Special
visit by our Healthier U Mascot, “Otto B. Fit”. Please

THE NEWINGTON CHILDREN’S THEATRE COMPANY PRESENTS
THE MUSICAL PRODUCTION OF OZ
The Manchester Recreation Department in conjunction
with Cheney Hall are hosting the Musical Production
of Oz! This 90 minute production of the timeless
“Wizard of Oz” tale has been adapted into a dazzling
musical based on L. Frank Baum’s classic story.
Tickets may be purchased in advance at the Center
Springs Recreation Office, 39 Lodge Drive or at
Cheney Hall, 177 Hartford Road. Tickets will be available
beginning January 2, 2006.
Date: Sunday, April 23, 1-2:30 p.m. or 4-5:30 p.m.

HERSHEY NATIONAL TRACK & FIELD
This program emphasizes the friendship, sportsmanship,
and the physical exercise aspect of track and
field as much if not more than the competition. All participants
must pre-register for the meet. Registration
forms will be available through the Physical Education
Department at the Manchester Schools and at all
Recreation Department Offices beginning in April.

ICE SKATING LESSONS
Bolton Figure Skating Club (BFSC) participates in
the "Skate with Us" program designed to teach the
fundamentals of skating in a friendly atmosphere.
Classes are held at Bolton Ice Palace and are open
to Manchester residents. Sessions are 8 weeks in
length and continue throughout the year.
Preschoolers have a 30-minute group lesson;
school age students, teens, and adults have a
30-minute small group lesson and a 30-minute practice
