several years. Of the $3.86 million dollars donated in 2006-<br />
2007, $2.11 million was in planned gifts and $1.75 million in cash and<br />

Scholarships<br />
S<br />
cholarships play an important role in lifting the financial burden <strong>of</strong> the cost <strong>of</strong> higher education to our students. Approximately 86% <strong>of</strong> our students receive<br />
some form <strong>of</strong> financial aid.<br />
In Fall 2007:<br />
• 810 students received the LIFE Scholarship<br />
• 171 students received the <strong>South</strong> <strong>Carolina</strong> HOPE Scholarship<br />
• 42 students received the Palmetto Fellows Scholarship<br />
• 434 USC <strong>Aiken</strong> Scholarships were awarded to students – these scholarships are established through the generosity <strong>of</strong> individuals, organizations, and the<br />
<strong>University</strong> community<br />
• 168 students were awarded scholarships by external sources
