in, and has continually enhanced, the Certified Training program for over 15 years.
Trimble Mapping & GIS Certified Trainers are able to offer and deliver superior training to
customers, enabling improved productivity and optimal performance with the Trimble data collection
system of your choice.
Two Mapping & GIS Certified Training programs are available:
• TerraSync software and GPS Pathfinder ® Office software
• Mapping with Mobile GIS
(ESRI ArcPad software with Trimble ® GPScorrect extension,
and Trimble GPS Analyst extension for ESRI ArcGIS
Desktop software)
Through the Certified Training program, Trimble has committed to provide its resellers, partners, and
key clients the knowledge, materials, and tools to successfully deliver effective training that ensures
end users are able to utilize the Trimble products to their maximum potential.

A Certified Trainer has undertaken a comprehensive training course led by a Trimble Instructor, and
has successfully demonstrated their training capabilities, and has met the pass mark for the required
course exams. In addition to this initial requirement, a Certified Trainer has access to the latest
training materials, the latest product information, and receives ongoing support and training from
Trimble.

Course Contents
TerraSync software and GPS Pathfinder Office software
• Create a data dictionary in the GPS Pathfinder Office software
• Associate GPS fundamentals with the criteria of a TerraSync software mapping project
• Identify TerraSync system components
• Configure your data collector with recommended data collection parameters and record GPS data
with recommended methods
• Perform differential correction with the GPS Pathfinder Office software
• Navigate and use waypoints
• Update GIS data
• Export data to a GIS or CAD system
Mapping with Mobile GIS
• Associate GPS, GIS, and geodatabase fundamentals with the criteria of a mapping project
• Create a personal geodatabase for use with ArcPad software
• Prepare and get data for ArcPad software in the ArcMap software
• Configure the ESRI ArcPad software and the Trimble GPScorrect extension for the ESRI ArcPad
software to collect accurate GPS data
• Collect and update data in ArcPad software using Trimble GPS
• Process ArcPad data in the ArcMap software
