Long On Performance
Every walkie end-rider comes equipped with the fork
length best suited to your specifi c requirements. Some
standard lengths include our shortest 36-inch forks,
popular for beverage handling; 48-inch forks, for use
with standard GMA pallets; and 96-inch “long-john”
forks, designed for handling double pallets and ideal
for fast-moving environments. Long-john forks can be
ordered with extended or standard fork-tips to suit your
application. Additional fork lengths are also available,
as are a variety of widths. For a full listing, see the
specifi cations pages or consult your dealer.
All fork lengths benefi t from a signifi cantly stronger fork
design compared to bent and formed fork designs. A
fork’s strength comes from the side-rails so thicker siderail
steel means a stronger fork. Cat lift trucks are built
with thick, solid steel side-rails that result in forks that
can handle really tough applications.
The Perfect Match
The 6,000 and the 8,000 lb capacity truck models use
innovative three-phase AC technology, with the drive
motor controller precisely matched to the AC motor for
optimum performance. The resulting high efficiency
factor optimizes energy resources for longer battery shift
life. Advanced regenerative braking further enhances
energy efficiency, taking energy recovery from the drive
motor to a whole new level. The advanced regenerative
braking system smoothes out directional changes, while
dramatically reducing brake pad wear in comparison with
conventional designs.

Equipped For Productivity
Ergonomically supportive, every detail of the operator’s
work space is designed to reduce fatigue and improve
performance. A cushioned operator platform reduces
jolting underfoot. There is even a toe alcove to create
more usable floor space on the operator platform. To
further increase operator comfort, the steel shaft of the
control handle is padded. The ergonomically designed
handle features a twist-grip travel control for maximum
grip and excellent speed control; conveniently located
and easy to operate lift/lower buttons; and a horn
button. The controls are designed to be a seamless
extension of the operator’s hand so that travel,
maneuvering and pallet lifting and lowering become
second nature for the operator.
A cushioned grab-bar, with lift/lower controls, horn,
rabbit speed, and optional coast-control buttons, allows
the operator to expertly handle pallets without changing
hand positions. The grab-bar and the low step height of
the platform also make it easier for operators to switch
between ride-on and pedestrian modes of operation.
Optional knee padding can be added to the tractor cover
for applications that require extended travel.
The truck’s ability to be driven with the control handle
in the vertical position allows the operator to smoothly
maneuver the truck through spaces where a normal truck
could never go.
Rugged Work-Horse Design
All forks come equipped with special XAR (eXtreme
Abrasion Resistant) steel at the areas of the forks
where accelerated material wear is frequently
experienced. This special material maintains the shape
and integrity of the fork design for superior performance
over the long haul.
The entire lift assembly has been extensively tested
with full rated load, to ensure that these trucks provide
a lifetime of dependable performance. XAR steel is also
used for the pallet entry slides, which are standard on
these trucks. By using pallet entry slides in place of
pallet entry rollers, the high cost of roller maintenance
is eliminated.

Built Tough For
Demanding Applications
The end-rider walkies come with service intervals up
to 500 hours, and no wonder-–they’ve been designed
with tough applications in mind. All components are
immediately accessible when the cover is removed.
A design that separates the hydraulic and electrical
systems keeps hydraulic fluid away from the electronics,
while simplifying maintenance. All switches are sealed
against dirt and moisture and are rated for at least one
million cycles.

Simply Dependable
All pivot points have easily accessed grease fittings and
use dimpled bushings to maximize grease retention,
which has been found to be the most significant
contributor to ensuring long component life. Adjustable
pull-rods keep fork-tips level for consistently smooth
pallet entry and exit, and the design ensures that
the forks stay adjusted so the operator can focus on
moving product. Optional on-board diagnostics require
no handset or software. The optional keypad access
and advanced information display help ensure minimal
downtime with controller programming and maintenance
features that quickly diagnose fault codes.
