We are discontinuing it because you told us it would help towards the savings we have to make. We would still like to keep in touch with you and keep you informed of important news, decisions and events. To find out how go to page 5. We approved our budget in February, which included a zero increase in district council tax this year. Residents in a band D will pay £124, still very much below the national average. With scarce resources in the future we will concentrate on the services you told us are a priority such as keeping the district kept clean, helping the vulnerable or disadvantaged to live independently and encouraging new jobs, homes and facilities. Turn to page 6 and 7 for more information. Easter is just around the corner. There are lots of activities for the whole family. Our One Leisure centres have put together a packed programme of fun sport and leisure activities guaranteed to burn off those Easter treats. Also a variety of fun sports and free activity sessions are available to young people. See page 22. I am pleased to announce that our master plan documenting how the Great Fen project will be taken forward, won the UK’s top planning prize. This is a great success for us and our partners. See page 21 for more details. Finally the Huntingdonshire Green Heart Community Awards are once again looking for applications to find those inspirational projects and motivated people who help the local environment.
