(SSD) has
become the
first occupier
of the recently
opened £1.1m
St Ives Enterprise
Centre.
Having previously been based at home,
Richard Slee decided the success and growth
of his business required relocating to more
appropriate premises, and identified the
Enterprise Centre as an ideal location.
SSD Ltd specialise in the design and
installation of security systems provided
to a wide range of sectors including
governments, industry, retail and leisure and
the public.
Richard said: “The centre offered an ideal
mixture of industrial and office space in a
well established business location. The range
of innovative sustainable features designed
into the building appealed to us as hopefully
they will contribute to keeping down our
utility costs.”
Developed by us the centre comprises
eight industrial workspaces and six offices
incorporating features such as under floor
heating, air source heat pumps, climate
control ventilation, rain water harvesting and
a sedum roof providing enhanced insulation.

If you've ever thought about becoming a market trader, this is the opportunity
you’ve been waiting for. The Make it Your Market scheme, now in its third year, is
running in Huntingdon and St Ives.
Working with Business Link, Huntingdon Town Partnership and St Ives Town
Initiative, we are offering free information sessions with everything you need to
know to set up your own market stall. There are guides, hints and tips of the trade
to help answer all your questions on becoming a market trader.
Participants of the Make it Your Market scheme also benefit from free hire of
market stalls and discounts on certain market pitch fees.

on Wednesday 6 April and Wednesday 11 May 12pm–1pm and at
St Ives Free Church, Friday 3 June and Friday 1 July 12pm–1pm.

Free business start-up workshops
Opportunities to take part in free business start-up workshops and enterprise
coaching are available to those of you thinking about starting your own business.
The scheme, offered by us, Business Link and NWES will run in Ramsey, Yaxley and
St Neots. Enterprise coaching will be offered on a one to one basis with a business
start-up specialist, to help assess whether a business idea is achievable and highlight
possible opportunities to move ideas forward.
Business start-up workshop will take place on 11 March 9.30am–12.30pm at the
Priory Centre St Neots. The workshop will go through the basics, providing a guide
to everything you need to know about starting up a business, including the ‘three
ingredients’ to success; business structure - the choices; tax, national insurance and
VAT; and insurance premises and licenses.
1-1 Enterprise Coaching sessions are available between 9.30am-1.30pm at:
