Railway Cancellations<br />
2040 1854-1971, the extensive and valuable collection formed by the late John Ayshford, well<br />
written-up and housed in nineteen albums, contained in three cartons, over 2,200 covers<br />
and cards and a quantity of stamps arranged by lines, including Air Mail, Registered with<br />
Registration stamps, Special Delivery, etc.; mixed condition though a most interesting lot<br />
for the specialist £2,500-3,000<br />
CAPE OF GOOD HOPE<br />
2041 1855-63 6d. pale rose-lilac, two examples in contrasting shades, both with good margins<br />
and cancelled in red, one covering the entire stamp, the other leaving apex clear; one with<br />
small crease, otherwise sound. Also a further example (repaired at lower left corner) with<br />
