STAFF NEWSLETTER<br />
A new three year Macmillan funded<br />
project to support the development of better cancer<br />
information within hospitals, GP surgeries <strong>and</strong><br />
community health venues began recently. Pictured<br />

The Apprentice challenge in the Dungannon<br />
store.<br />
We have raised an impressive £10,000 for<br />
the <strong>Southern</strong> Area Hospice through an<br />
‘Apprentice’ style challenge where three<br />
teams of <strong>Trust</strong> staff competed to raise<br />
money <strong>and</strong> stock for hospice shops in<br />
Newry, Banbridge <strong>and</strong> Dungannon for a day.<br />
The challenge, organised as part of our<br />
‘<strong>Trust</strong> in Community’ initiative,<br />
saw the teams demonstrate<br />
their entrepreneurialism<br />
through a range of innovative<br />
fundraising activities.<br />
New Antenatal Clinics<br />
Charity Food<br />
Operation<br />
Ruth Wright <strong>and</strong> Andrea Cushnahan, Staff Nurses<br />
from Main Theatres, Craigavon Area Hospital<br />
recently presented food hampers <strong>and</strong> meat vouchers<br />
to several local charities. Donations were made<br />
by medical <strong>and</strong> nursing staff from the Theatre <strong>and</strong><br />
Recovery Department.<br />
New midwife-led antenatal clinics began in<br />
Portadown <strong>Health</strong> <strong>and</strong> <strong>Care</strong> Centre. Previously<br />
these clinics were held in Craigavon’s Antenatal<br />
Outpatients Department. Midwives Sadie Porter<br />
<strong>and</strong> Sharon Platt with C<strong>and</strong>ace <strong>and</strong> Stuart Davison<br />
at a recent antenatal appointment along with Chief<br />
Executive Mairead McAlinden <strong>and</strong> Brenda Kelly.<br />
Santa Fun Run<br />
Liam Mulholl<strong>and</strong>, Receptionist at John<br />
Mitchell Place in Newry took part in<br />
the Santa Fun Run in aid of PIPS<br />
Newry & Mourne <strong>and</strong> the Newry<br />
& Mourne Gateway Club. Liam<br />
was awarded the prize of best<br />
dressed Santa!<br />
